Breakfast Club
  • 7:45am – 9:20am. €5 p/child.
  • 8:30am – 9:20am. €4 p/child.
Early Years Service
  • 9.30am – 12.30pm

Your child may be eligible for the ECCE free playschool year. Talk to a trained member of staff to find out more.

If your child is not eligible for the free playschool year, there is a fee of €12.50 per day.

Hot Snack
  • 12:30pm-2:00pm. €5 p/child.

This is only available to the preschool children staying on past 12.30pm.

Afterschool Service
  • 2:00pm – 6:00pm. €3 p/child per hour.

We are registered with the National Childcare Scheme (NCS). This is available for both the Preschool & Afterschool children. If you have any questions on this, please give the office a call and speak to a member of our trained staff.

Here at St. Michael’s Little Scholars, we use a child centred play-based approach.

This curriculum allows us to support and promote the children’s holistic learning and development. Our curriculum works in line with Aistear and Siolta’s national framework for early childhood education and care in Ireland.

It promotes the child’s independence, interests, well-being, language and social skills. This is done through using an emergent and enquiry-based curriculum.

This means the curriculum is coming from the children and their experiences. The enquiry-based curriculum encourages children to explore and investigate through many learning experiences and conversations. Our curriculum is very inclusive of all children and their different interests, backgrounds and cultures.

St Michael’s Little Scholars has CCTV cameras in operation in its service. This is primarily for the purposes of maintaining the health and safety of employees and the children in our care, but always within the scope of current Data Protection and Childcare Protection legislation.

My daughter loves attending preschool at the Little Scholars. She is always learning something new and has great fun with all her friends. I highly recommend this service and the work of the staff. My son, when he joined, was very shy, liked to play on his own, and had no interest in messy play, painting or anything that involved him getting dirty or wet. However, with encouragement from the staff and seeing how well his friends where getting on, he decided himself one day to join in and has not looked back. Staff noticed the change in him and encouraged him to take part and now he is first to the table. The service really helped him to grow and explore different textures, join in and partake in all activities and for this I am truly grateful to them all.

I highly recommend the Little Scholars Afterschool service. My kids are collected from the nearby school at 2pm & 3pm and walked up safely. They are always met with a friendly welcome from the girls. Help with homework is readily available and activities are always put on in the afternoon to keep the kids occupied. They particularly love Thursdays, when the LEGO workshop is on! Thank you to Emma & her brilliant staff.

My 3 kids have all attended preschool in the Little Scholars and also go to their Afterschool. The staff are amazing. The activities that they do in the curriculum really get the kids motivated. The warmth towards every child is very comforting. The Camps are class, excellent activities and the kids love the day trips away. Great fun!

The staff are caring, patient and very professional and always give a great sense of interest in what the children have to say. My little one is always full of chat about what she has done & learned that day. The seasonal Camps are also great fun and a godsend for us parents too!
